On December 3rd, 2022, the Manifezt Foundation, a Miami-based STEM nonprofit, held a hands-on workshop titled “Science in the City” at Larcenia Bullard Plaza in Miami, FL.
The focus of the workshop was “Pig Dissections,” providing local students with an in-depth understanding of animal anatomy, biology, and physiology. Participants were able to explore the different organs and systems of a pig’s body, including the respiratory, digestive, and circulatory systems. The workshop was led by experienced mentors who guided the students through the dissection process, explaining the scientific principles behind each step. By the end of the workshop, students gained a new perspective on the complexity and interconnectedness of biological systems, inspiring them to pursue further studies in STEM.
